Most famous for being known as the "resurrection plant" for its ability to come back to life. In its arid desert home, when water is scarce these plants curl up into a dry ball. It is much like a tumbleweed, as when dry it stays rolled into a ball and may blow across the desert.
When rains come again, the plant magically opens up with beautiful, fernlike leaves and will put down its roots. Soil is not required to grow this plant - just shallow water!
They often turn a bright, vibrant green. When water is removed, it goes back into a state of hibernation again until water is introduced again. It is this ability to consistently come back to life is what gives Jericho Rose it's magical and spiritual properties.
In spiritual practices, its believed to have blessing properties or spiritual energy and many people use it in white magic spells, especially for love, wealth and rebirth and these are often performed along with a candle.
To “grow” your jericho plant, you need a large enough dish that your plant can fully fill it (some can get quite large/wide!). We recommend a wide shallow bowl of at least 8”. Add water to cover the roots of the plant. Over the next several hours watch as your magical plant opens and comes “alive.”
We recommend changing the water daily to avoid mold forming. Keep your plant in indirect sunlight. We recommend allowing it to stay hydrated for at least one week (7 days) and again recommend changing water daily. Some people choose to let the Jericho Rose dry out every once in awhile and then let it come “back” to life as a form of abundance and prosperity work. If you dry your plant out, allow it to dry for at last 7-10 before you start the cycle again!
